Overthinking

Wednesday, I had a mocha after lunch and I wanted to post on Facebook how a mocha could make so many things better. Then I thought about how much suffering there is going on in there world at any given moment, and how a mocha could not make it all better. Then my mocha was just shallow. I did not post it.

On Thursday, I got a new office chair. It just about sent me through the roof. I was so excited. I wanted to post about my new office chair. But really, is that what I want people to know about me, and to think about when they see my face? An office chair? I didn't post it.

On Friday, I found the exact perfect outfit to wear that precisely fit my mood. Also, I sent off my subscription to Vogue knitting. Two small things. They made my day.

Today it was muffins. And sunshine. And muffins in the sunshine on the counter. Somehow, that didn't seem little, or silly, or shallow.

Moment

My little girl climbed up on my lap today, all nine year old gangly legs, and put her arms around my neck, and just sat there. It was so sweet I almost over-cooked the steak in the oven because I just didn't want to move.

New Friends

Gorgeous new yarn, meet new leather chair.

New leather chair was found at a junk shop and purchased for the price of a pillow. Gorgeous new yarn was purchased with with care at an online shop called knitpicks. I hope that you will become good friends, as we will all be spending a great deal of time together.

I just knew they would like each other.
I think that it is important when making introductions to include personal details. It shows consideration, and makes it cozier. Don't you think?

Blustery

The view from my office window. I don't think it quite captures how very grey and blustery the day really is. I can hear the wind as if it were blowing through the building, and the light at 10 in the morning is twilight at best.

Can anyone else hear the word "Blustery" without singing Winnie the Pooh?

Word of the Day*: Sanity

*Life being what it is, sometimes we crave attainable challenges to keep us going. Last week we had the challenge of color. This week it is the word of the day, preferably with accompanying picture. The word being whatever you like, while the purpose of the picture may be to illustrate, illuminate, or it may be completely cryptic except in the mind of the author, causing us to draw our own conclusions, and therefore adding to the total quotient of creativity in our day. Don't forget to see Erin and Lynda for their word of the day, and feel free to join in. Just add your link in a comment box, and come play.

Purple

I went off to the 5th Street Market and forgot my camera. There were so many beautiful things there: purple and otherwise. Once at home again, I was forced to rush around the house looking for something purple. This is Prince, the purple frog.

Red

Red. *A toast to the last evening of winter vacation, to the new year, and to the tiny, pretty bits that make a Sunday night at home as much as a Monday morning.

*Taken last night in preparation for the morning.

A Good Start

Sunshine in the morning! It has been a while. A morning walk (picture opportunities.) A haircut for my baby girl. A good workout in the afternoon. A blog post (!!!) and all before dinner.
